Seattle....You've Got To Be Kidding Me...

It turns out that what people have been saying are true...I DO love Seattle. Since I have the goal of spending New Years Eve in a different place each year, Noel and I decided to try Seattle out. It was such a fun trip and such a beautiful city. In between all the fun we were having, there were quite a few "you've got to be kidding me" moments. Here are those moments...in a nutshell...just add "you've got to be kidding me" at the end and you will see what I mean.

~Noel and I saw a drug deal go down at the gas station in Provo
~My window motor broke on the way to the airport
~Once we reached Seattle we found out that we didn't have a ride from the airport
~I got some hot chocolate at a cute little cafe shop and the lady that
made it told me to "prepare for delicious"....it was the grossest
hot chocolate I've ever had.

I was preparing for delicious

~We get to our friend Elaine's house, and it is FREEZING, with no heat

I was so happy with we found the heater that I just wanted to kiss it!

~Elaine's dogs got in a hardcore fight RIGHT in front of me. I was seriously
afraid of dying
~My phone didn't get reception in Elain's house
~We ended up playing the Wii at Kalei's house, and Noel practically broke her
hand on the counter while trying to bowl.
~We found out at 6pm on New Year's Eve, that Kalei didn't get tickets for the
Space Needle that night.

Hanging out at Dick's, the Seattle burger place, where we found out the bad news about the Space Needle

New Year's Eve was still so awesome. There was a huge party at the base of the Space Needle and we had a better view of the fireworks too!

~We found out at 10pm that Kalei's parents didn't know we were coming
(like we thought) and that we were not welcome to stay with them, and therefore
needed a hotel.
~Being that it was New Year's Eve, all the hotels were full
~We ended up paying close to $200 for a hotel room that night
~Seattle runs the AC all the time...even when it is 30 degrees outside

I was forced to use the hand dryers in the bathroom as a heat source.

~Some drunk people tried to get into our hotel room at 3 in the morning....thinking
it was their own room
~The front desk at the hotel gave us the wrong info on the bus to the aiport, so we
had to take the taxi
~Once we finally reached Salt Lake, we managed to end up in the employee parking lot
on accident and had to ride the shuttle back into the airport.

I was very happy to see the ride shuttle sign

It was a very interesting trip, as you can see, but we also had TONS of fun. Here are a few more pictures of our adventures from the week.

At the Pike Place Market, where they are known for throwing the fish around...Mike was nice enough to take a picture with us

...since my parents are old and would appreciate this

This entire wall is covered in gum

So of course I added to it!!

...drum roll....it says "Sue"

Getting on the boat for our tour!

At the aquarium we decided to do exactly what our fake friends were doing!

Our hotel made cool shapes with the towels...an elephant and a swan

For those of you that don't know, large chairs have an affinity for me. I see them everywhere I go!!

To end the longest blog ever, I must comment on the people of Seattle. I was very surprised at how friendly everyone was, and I mean EVERYONE. Noel and I came to the onclusion that it probably has to do with the massive amounts of coffee they consume. Whatever the reason, I loved it
