I recently moved into a cute old house in Sugarhouse, and may I emphasize OLD. OK, it isn't that old, but still pretty old. Well, it doesn't have fire alarms. So of course, being the good parents that they are, my parents bought me a fire alarm AND a fire extinguisher. Mostly because our dryer gets REALLY hot and I was afraid it was going to catch on fire. I put the fire extinguisher on a shelf by the dryer and didn't think much about it. Well, about a week after I got that thing I was making a blanket and had all the lights on and had the candles burning. Well my roommate, Ashley, came home from work with a take out bag of food. I needed to get something from the basement and was too afraid to go myself, so I had her go with me. We were literally down there for about 30 seconds before we heard a weird noise coming from upstairs. It sounded like firecrackers, so naturally I ran away. But then Ashley heard one of her little dogs yelping and ran up the stairs as fast as she could. We had no idea what was happening!!! Ashley fell UP the stairs so she continued on her hands and knees to rescue her puppy. I looked into the living room and saw the candle reflecting off of a picture frame and thought that those firecracker noises were actually fire burning down my house!! So as Ashley is crawling on the ground, I jump on top of the dryer to get to the fire extinguisher and run into the living room. Ashley is all confused on why all of the sudden I have an extinguisher in my hand, only then do we realize what was really going on....

Well....little Magic had decided he was hungry in the 30 seconds we were in the basement and had tried to get Ashley's food she had brought home. Well instead of getting to the food he got his little head stuck in the handle of the take home bag. He freaked out and ran away (with the bag attached to him) and it made that crackling noise which freaked him out even more, and that was when he started yelping.

The little troublemaker!

The candle that made me think the house was on fire.

Not to fear!!!I got the fire extinguisher!!! Thanks Mom and Dad!!!
