Home For The Holidays

After Brian and I finished our finals we packed our bags, got on a plane and headed for home! We were lucky enough to be able to spend just over 2 weeks out West.

Our first stop, Utah!!  With Brian's family being in Utah and nearly all of our friends, it is always pretty busy for us to try and see everyone.  We saw most of our friends and had some great family dinners, not to mention we got to see the lights at Temple Square!

Brian couldn't miss the Steelers game! He brought his Steelers hat with
him just for this game.

No football game is complete without Kitty! I snuggled him as much as I could!

Brian's grandparents had everyone over for a Christmas dinner and presents!
Part of Brian's present was this giant Lindor chocolate!

Since it has been a few years since we have been to Temple Square to see the lights, we jumped on the opportunity to see them!

To end our time in Utah we had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner with April and Shayla.  April cooked us a huge turkey dinner and we spend our last few hours in Utah hanging out

After driving through a big snow storm and finally making our way to Caldwell, we were able to enjoy watching the kids open all their presents on Christmas morning!

To end our Christmas day we walked around the Caldwell lights! The lights
were awesome, especially for such a small little town in Idaho!

One of the best thing about coming home is that my mom always plans fun things for us to do together!  One night, the boys played basketball while the girls did crafts!

I kept finding Brian hanging out with cute little Madilyn!

The girls making new ornaments with Granny!

What else did Granny plan for us to do?  Play with goofy photo props! She did so much work making all these props!! The kids had so much fun dressing us up and taking pictures!

For New Year's Eve we decided to go and see the Potato Drop!! It was perfect, since we've never spent New Year's Eve in Boise, Idaho! It was only about 10 degrees out, so we didn't spent a long time out there but we had a lot of fun.
My first look at the giant potato!

We got to downtown Boise about 10pm and were able to park about 5 blocks away and there were NO crowds out yet.  A huge change from last year when we spent 12 hours standing in Times Square!

I'm not sure the story behind this giant potato on this giant truck, but we had to get a picture with it!  Rumor has it this truck just travels around and ends up on random TV shows.

Yup! Idaho drops the giant potato with a crane!

 Happy 2015!!!

We had a pretty good time at the great Potato Drop and even got matching t-shirts

On our last night in Boise Matthew and Mckeely showed us their musical skills! They were so cute  playing their little instruments! I just love them

We had such a wonderful time at home.  It was the best Christmas present we could have asked for! Of course, I cried when I had to say goodbye to the little kiddos. I love my family and I'm so thankful that we had so much time with them.
