Oregon Coast Family Vacation

There is one thing that I look forward to every year, and that is the Barrand family vacation! One of our favorite places to go is the Oregon coast, where we rent a beach house and play on the beach for a week. Since I'm not in school anymore I got to stay for the entire week, instead of just flying in for the weekend. Sarah's parents also came along this year, which made for an extra good time! Here are some pictures from the week!

Exploring the tide pools

These kids love books...which means I read every book they had about 12 times...every morning

I probably took a nap everyday...nope, I DID take a nap everyday

One of the fun things we did this year was Clamming!! Matt and Sarah made some clamming traps...not sure what they are called, but it was really fun! We had to hike down a mountain and across swampy grossness to get to the place we needed. Matthew and Mckeely had a really good time, but Maleeya was not impressed. She fell into the first hole we had dug and was therefore cranky the whole time. She was ready to leave before anyone else, so I ended up hauling her back across the swampy grossness and back up the huge hill....all in flip flops...carrying all of here stuff. Yeah, you could say that I love that girl a little bit.

Me and Sarah. Love her.

Even though we went to the beach in August, it was still FREEZING! But we still had a great time and the kids even loved playing in the little tide pools while Matt, Sarah and I hit the waves!

The kids love to go crabbing, and by kids I mean everyone. So we packed up food and chairs and blankets and parked ourselves on the end of the pier and spend the day catching crabs!

Love my girls

Mom being hilarious....like always

We caught a starfish. Mckeely had to examine it with her very scientific mind (just like her Aunt Sue-Ann)

Matt, the Cook

John finally made it! We, of course, had to start climbing on every rock possible. Then we all hiked up the huge sand hill to see what we could find. There were lots of cliffs and dangerous things, so we all had a designated child that we had to look after. My DC, as John started to call them, was my little Maleeya.

Matt almost fell into the water here trying to get a good pictures....boys...
