Exploring Minnesota

Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes and very short summers, and this summer has been even shorter being that I didn't finish school until the end of July.  One thing Brian and I have been looking forward to doing is kayaking the 10,000 lakes! Brian's dad was nice enough to send out an old inflatable kayak for us to use. We packed up our things and headed out to the lake, but when we got out on the water we ran into some trouble...

Turns out there is a GIANT gash in the bottle of the kayak

At least we tried!!  Maybe next year....

Since we failed at exploring the lakes, we took advantage of living so close to Minneapolis instead.  Brian had a two day conference in the Twin Cities, so we took a little vacation to check them out.  I tried to check out the Mall of America on my own but it was too overwhelming for me....I'll have to go back when Brian is with me.  Instead we took a tour of Target Field, where the Minnesota Twins play baseball.

It doesn't get any more American than this!!
An apple, Mickey Mouse and the Statue of Liberty!!

 I love my Lady Liberty

Freakishly friendly mascots for the freakishly friendly state

 Being gangsta....in a $25,000 seat...
$25,000 seats... closer to home plate than the pitcher's mound.

Brian meeting Tony Oliva (a former Twins player)

We had a great time in Minneapolis and we look forward to exploring more of what Minnesota has to offer us!!
