Two Peas In a Pod: My First Visit to Calgary

It has been two and a half years since I've seen Jackie and it was long overdue for me to visit her in Canada.  With Brian working full time and a job lined up for me, we can finally afford to send me to see Jackie!! This trip was a graduation present and a celebration for finishing school!!  We had so much fun together from the very moment I got off the plane. We really are two peas in a pod!

Hiking near Calgary:  We went on a short hike just outside of Calgary.  It was so beautiful! And we weren't even in the mountains!!

Jackie's pointing was so exaggerated...I thought it was hilarious, so I had to get a picture

Baking Cookies: Jackie loves to bake, so I brought some new cookie cutters and baking tools with me and we hit the kitchen!

Walking Around The Reservoir: There is a huge reservoir about 5 minutes from Jackie's house, so we took a walk around the trails because the weather was so beautiful!

Homemade Pizza: Spend one evening making homemade pizza, which was SO good.  Jackie had two cats, Duncan and Patrick, and they were always right by our side, especially in the kitchen

Duncan is obsessed with food...this picture basically sums him up

Banff: On the last nice day of  my trip we drove into the mountains to visit the cute town of Banff.
The water was SO blue and the mountains SO beautiful

The fancy hotel where Jackie and I are going to stay one day

 Relaxing in the mountains

We found an awesome ballroom in hotel that made us feel like we
were living in Medieval times

Jackie wanted me to look like and sit like a lady...but I just look mad...oops!

This is the only Mountie I saw the entire time I was in Canada!! We tried to get close enough to take a picture with it,but the hotel was like a maze!

Silly Duncan... found him in my bag when we got home

Tennis Game: Playing tennis with Jackie was such a workout! Not because we are good at tennis, but because I laughed so hard it made my abs sore!

Jackie kept trying to get me to hit the ball hard like the pros do, but I just ended up hitting the ball over the fence and losing it in the grass...tennis is not my forte

Crafting: We wanted to make crafts to help us remember our trip!!

Jackie made Scottish ornaments for her Christmas tree

 The cats supervised, like always

I made a picture frame and jewelry box!

The cats helping me with my ribbon.

Scottish Festival: Since Jackie is half Scottish we decided to check out the Scottish Festival!  It was so cold and rainy, but it was so fun to feel like we were in Scotland for a few hours!

On the bus headed to the festival

The Heavy Games:  Scottish boys throwing heavy things

I was pretty excited about the mini donuts....

Highland dancing! I couldn't get a better picture, but it was so fun to see the highland dancing and hear the bagpipes!

Our Last Night: As my time in Canada was coming to an end, Jackie and I made sure to get a few last important pictures in

Patrick is basically my best friend now.  He followed me everywhere!!

Finishing my jewelry box, with Patrick's help

We have matching sweats (on accident) and matching Scotland tee shirts (on purpose)

Jackie bought 3 2-Liter bottles of Diet Coke cause she thought that would be enough for the week.  She grossly underestimated my addiction to Diet Coke..... she made me take this shame picture with all my Diet Coke bottles and cans....#sorrynotsorry

I can't even begin to explain how nice it was to spend time with Jackie.  She is my person!! I've missed her so much and I can't wait until our next trip!!
