Moving Across the Country

The time has finally come. It is time to finally pack everything we own into a truck and head 1800 miles west. Just driving proved to be quite the adventure.

It starts! Its 6:07am and Brian is all happy and cute with his cowboy hat

The seats were so far away!! We could hardly hold hands

Bye Utah! Hello Wyoming

We stopped for some breakfast and Brian found the little cowboy seats

Drama 1: iPod cord breaks. Aka, no music

Drama 2: This nice FedEx man waved us over and told us we had tons of blue smoke coming out of our truck. He told us we were going to have to get a new truck so we were excepting the worst.

We made it to the repair shop and it turns out it was no big deal! A quick cap change and we were back on the road

Drama 3: I got a bloody nose. I haven't had a bloody nose in years, but I got one day one of driving.

Doing what I do best. Sleeping. I had 4 naps on the first day of our driving.

Just outside Cheyenne there is a giant head of Abraham Lincoln. Super random

We made it to Nebraska!!

We are in Nebraska for like 15 minutes before we got a tornado warning over the radio. The tornado warning area was chasing us down the highway. Not long after the all clear was given there was a flash flood warning. We will never live in Nebraska cause it is way too scary.

A museum built over the highway

Entering Iowa was the start of day 2 of driving. It looks exactly like Nebraska

The largest truck stop in the world is in Iowa. We didn't stop. Brian was afraid I would get lost in it.

Illinois! Again, looks exactly like Nebraska and Iowa.

Brian was so sad we didn't stop in this little tiny town. Ronald is his hero.

We parked our truck in the suburbs and drove into Chicago to spend time in the city with John.

We took the L train to go to eat dinner at one of John's restaurants, which happens to be right next to Wrigley Field.

John found the Idaho and Utah rocks on the rock building. He is trying to seduce the camera.

Me and Brian at our Utah rock.

The Bean!!

My babe and the bean!!

The famous Chicago Theater

We made a short stop at The Underground to check out John's club. So we took our picture at the VIP entrance.

After a very long and much needed sleep, Brian and I walked around the city. Our first stop was the Navy Pier

We walked to see the Bean in the daylight and rested next to the face fountain.

Then, we went on a boat tour of the city and learned all about the building of Chicago.

Indiana!!!

Ohio!!

If I have to go through one more toll booth I'm going to scream. You have to pay to drive on I-80. Lame

YESSSSSS!! Finally!!!! Our new home state!

Our first view of Pittsburgh!

Pittsburgh has over 400 bridges, and this was one of the first ones we saw.

After unpacking the truck we got some pizza. Our first dinner in Pittsburgh.
