Mom Takes Over Minnesota

For a gift Matt and Sarah sent my mom out to spend some time with me in Minnesota.  We had the best time.  Lots of cooking and baking, and we were able to do some site-seeing. It was so nice to spend time with my mom!!

After picking my mom up from the airport we stopped by the Mall of America to have a look around. We decided to get Jamba Juice for lunch and when I ask my mom how her Razzmatazz smoothie was, she said "berry berry good." My mom has jokes

Of course we had to cook!  We got all the ingredients to pack my freezer full of meatballs!

My mom spoils me.  She bought me a Food Saver that vacuum seals food. We used it lots and lots with all the meatballs we made.

One really cool thing we were able to do while my mom was here was to take a tour of the Mayo carillon. We had to climb 5 flights of stairs to get there, but it was worth it!

The carillonneur.  She is still in training, but was very good!  In the history of the Mayo Clinic there have only been 3 official carillonneurs!

At the top of the tower listening to the bells

Mom and I checking out the best view of the city!

The practice carillon that is kept inside

Signing the guest book

The library inside the Plummer Building. It is so beautiful!

More food!!  We made lots of cookies! I was 5 pounds heavier by the time mom left!!
The finished product!

We were also able to take a tour of the local convent while my mom was here.  It was huge! I wish we were allowed to take pictures, because the chapel was gorgeous! Sister Joy was our tour guide and my mom kept telling us funny stories from when she was growing up Catholic.

Last, but definitely not least! We had to get some Dunkin Donuts before sending mom back home!
