Steelhead Ironman 70.3 - Benton Harbor, MI

This past weekend we traveled to Benton Harbor, MI for Brian to complete another Ironman.  I seriously don't know how he does it! Plus it was extremely hot and humid and I could hardly stand it and I was just hanging out on the beach! Jeri, Matt, and the kids are came out to help cheer Brian on as well!  Our hotel was in South Bend so we took some time to wander around the Notre Dame campus. Brian has been wanting to see Notre Dame for a while, so it was nice to finally go!

Touchdown Jesus! This building can be seen from the football stadium, just above the end zone. Hence, the name Touchdown Jesus

Touchdown Jesus selfie with this handsome man.

Lydia loves her Uncle Brian. She was so cute, just walked right
up and gave him a huge hug.

Jeri brought Brian's old scout shirt from Utah....it barely fits....

Hanging out with Lydia. She is so sweet. She sat down right next to me
and did exactly what I did...until Brian took a picture.

Brian is ready to go! Waiting on the beach until it is time to start. The water was so warm that he wasn't allowed to wear his wet suit.

Of course, we took a selfie

Brian was so quick with his transitions that I could hardly get any pictures! Plus, the course wasn't set up well, so I couldn't get very close.

While Brian was busy biking and running for 7 hours straight, the rest of us played on the beach! I'm very impressed with the beaches of Lake Michigan! They are beautiful! And the water was the perfect temperature!

He did it!!! Running down the last stretch towards the
finish line with a smile on his face!!

On the way home we stopped in Chicago for the night! John took us to one of the beaches and to one of the greatest views of Chicago!

Beautiful sunset on the beach

Cool art installment we saw while driving in Chicago

Portillo's! We finally ate the world famous hot dogs from Portillo's!

Portillo's has such a cool atmosphere! We loved it!
